There isn't one single tree everyone edits — there's your tree, and you can browse every other member's tree too. See “How trees work here” for the full picture. In short:

• Browsing and searching cross the whole family — you see everyone's people.
• Your edits go into your own tree.
• Hints (once a night) connect the trees so nothing stays siloed.
