Organize / Name faces

This is the superpower. The recognizer groups the same face across every photo it appears in, so you name a person once and every photo of them is tagged at the same time.

  1. Open Name faces (app: the Me tab β†’ Name faces; website: Name faces in the nav).
  2. Browse the groups under Who is this? β€” each is one person across many photos.
  3. Open a group, tap Name this person, and search your tree or create a new person.
  4. Every photo in that group is now tagged to them.

The tabs

  • Who is this? β€” groups still needing a name.
  • Identified β€” groups you've named.
  • Unknown / Not family β€” set a group aside without naming it.

Loose faces

Faces the grouper couldn't place show under Loose faces, clearest first. Tap one to open its photo and name it there.

You can also mark a group Not a person (a statue, a photo in a photo) so it stops showing up.
