Export your tree from Ancestry (GEDCOM)

Ancestry lets you download your whole tree as a GEDCOM file — the standard family-tree format Family Forest imports directly. Names, dates, places, and relationships all come across. (Photos don't ride along in a GEDCOM — see the last section below.)

1. Sign in at ancestry.com and open Trees in the top menu, then pick your tree.
2. Open the tree-name menu at the top-left of the tree view and choose Tree Settings.
3. On the Tree Info tab, look right for Export tree and click it.
4. Ancestry prepares the file — big trees can take a few minutes. When it's ready the button becomes Download your GEDCOM file; click it and save the `.ged` file somewhere you can find.

Then bring it to Family Forest

Send the `.ged` file to the family archivist (the admin). They import it on the website — every person, date and relationship lands as a tree you own, and a duplicate + conflict review runs against what's already in the archive so nothing collides silently.
