Roles: what you can do

Every member has a role. It's set by an admin when they invite you.

Viewer

Can browse everything β€” people, photos, the tree, the map, stats. Cannot make changes.

Contributor (the usual reunion role)

Everything a viewer can do, plus building their own tree: adding people and relationships, uploading and tagging photos, naming faces, adding timeline events and sources, commenting on photos, and acting on their own hints.

Admin

Everything a contributor can do, plus family-wide tools: inviting members and creating reunion codes, managing members and roles, merging duplicate people, and the desktop curation tools.

Remember the sovereign-tree rule: even an admin's ordinary edits land in their own tree. Roles decide what kinds of actions you can take; your tree decides where your edits go.
